How to Split a PDF or Extract Pages Online

Each comma-separated entry becomes its own output file. Entering 1-3, 5, 8-10 creates three PDFs. This is useful when each range belongs in a separate attachment or archive item.

All requested ranges are copied into one new PDF in the order you entered them. For example, 8-10, 1-3 places pages 8-10 before pages 1-3 in the extracted result.

Common PDF Splitting Problems and Fixes
🔒 Password-protected or encrypted PDF
Encrypted PDFs may not be readable by this splitter. If you are authorised to do so, unlock the document with appropriate PDF software and add the unlocked copy.
📄 Page range is rejected
Use whole page numbers that exist in the document. Valid examples include 1-3, 5, and 8-12. Avoid decimals, reversed ranges, or page numbers beyond the document length.
🔄 Odd/even result is not what you expected
Odd/Even refers to PDF page numbers: 1, 3, 5 and 2, 4, 6. It does not automatically reconstruct the physical front/back order of every scanner workflow.
📊 Output PDF is still too large
Splitting removes pages from each output but does not run a dedicated compression pass. After checking the split result, use the PDF Compressor if a file still exceeds an upload limit.
📱 Browser becomes slow on a large PDF
Close memory-heavy tabs, split fewer outputs at once, or use a desktop browser. The input cap is not a guarantee that every 200MB PDF will fit into every device's available memory.
